A couple of weeks ago I was personally invited to the opening of a local new art shop.

The infamous chain of Cass Art shops have now opened a brand spanking new store in central Brighton right at the heart of the Laines (21 Market Street, BN1 1HH) and the visit didn’t dissapoint.

I was lucky enough to pick up one of the goodie bags which included a (large) handful of useful art items, including various sample paints, charcoal pencils, pens and even a Brighton branded notebook. The pack also included a Derwent Graphik pen (which is perfect for me as I use these a lot when hand illustrating!).

While I was at the store, I was also interested in buying a new lightbox . The friendly staff were there to advise on the best choice and questions that I had. I opted for the Wafer 1 (pictured below) which is super thin and portable, so it’s easy to take this around the house and find the best spot to start sketching which is awesome!
